ELECTRICAL WORK IN ROSEBERY
Rosebery is one of the more interesting suburbs we work in. It's a working light-industrial pocket that's slowly turning into something else — old factories converted into apartments, design studios, breweries, and showrooms, all sharing the streets with panel-beaters, smash repairers, and warehouses that have been there for decades. The electrical work here reflects that mix.
Warehouse conversions are the bread and butter. We get called in when a developer or a tenant has bought an old industrial unit and wants to turn it into something useful — open-plan apartments, a photography studio, a small showroom. The original three-phase board is usually still there, often undersized for the new load profile, and the cabling is a mix of decades of patches by whoever was cheapest at the time. We strip it back, design a proper distribution, and document everything for the certifier.
Creative studios are a sub-category of their own. Photographers want plenty of 10A and 15A outlets in the ceiling rig, properly rated for HMI lighting. Cafes want coffee machines on dedicated circuits with the right protection. Co-working spaces want clean floor boxes that don't trip people. We've done all of it around Dunning Avenue, Rothschild Avenue, and the side streets.
The residential side is mostly post-war housing — small fibro and brick places with old enamel-fuse boards and aluminium meter tails.
