Newtown is a mix in every direction. You've got the original worker's terraces on the side streets off Enmore Road and Australia Street, the larger Victorian semis closer to King Street, and a growing number of warehouse and shopfront conversions that have been turned into residential spaces or creative workspaces. Add the King Street commercial strip on top of that, and you get one of the most varied electrical environments in Sydney.

The residential work we do in Newtown is heavy on rewires and partial upgrades. The terrace stock here is old, and a lot of the original wiring is at or past the end of its safe service life. We routinely find old VIR cable, ungrounded outlets, and switchboards that were last updated 30 or 40 years ago. We don't condemn for the sake of it — if a circuit is genuinely safe we'll tell you so. But when it isn't, we'll explain exactly why and what the fix looks like.

Warehouse conversions are the other big residential job. The open volume of a converted commercial space means lighting design matters, and we work with both architects and homeowners directly to plan circuits before the plasterers come in. Doing it in the right order saves money and stops the project from doubling back.

Commercially, we do a lot of King Street work. Cafes, bars, retail tenancies, small offices upstairs from the strip. The infrastructure on King Street is ageing in places, and many shopfronts need a sub-board upgrade before they can run modern POS, fridges, and air conditioning together without nuisance tripping. We size loads properly and we test the result.
